A guided tour with one of our specially qualified team of Winchester Blue Badge Guides is an excellent way to become acquainted with our city.

Learn how the Romans laid it out, how King Alfred made it his royal capital, and of its ongoing significance in the life of Church, State and the Military over many centuries.

Visit our magnificent Norman Cathedral, Winchester College - one of England's oldest schools, the Great Hall of Winchester Castle with its Round Table and links with the legend of King Arthur, St Cross Hospital - model for Hiram's Hospital in Trollope's "The Warden", the house where Jane Austen died, or perhaps one of our five Military Museums

Tours
Regular tours leave the Tourist Information Centre at the Guildhall, where tickets can be purchased on the day. Click here for schedules and prices.
