Bury St Edmunds
Tuesday 11 March

The Association of Registered Tour Guides' event is taking place on the 11th March and is a familiarisation tour for the local tourism industry, including local councillors, plus staff from hotels and attractions. They plan to have a reception at the refractory and then a tour of the Abbey and town.

Chester
Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 March

The Guild of Chester Tour Guides are offering free tours on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th March from the Townhall TIC at 10: 30 am and 2:00pm. This is part of British Tourism Week combined with International Tourist Guide Day, encouraging people to find out what professional tour guides can offer. An approach has also been made to the local Hospice suggesting that a bucket collection takes place when the end of the tour is reached. Many more such tours are taking place around the country.

Coventry
Thursday 13th March

Roger Bailey, member of HETGA and the Coventry Guild of Tour Guides, is offering a tour on the 13th March around Coventry for members of the press and interested parties. This will be promoted via the British Travel Trade Fair at the NEC.

The Manchester Guild of Tour Guides are organising a 'Relay Tour' from Manchester Art Gallery to Chethams Library on Sunday 16th March. A relay of Guides will lead a 2 hour walking tour through Manchester. Donations will be requested in aid of a charity (yet to be chosen).Manchester

Cheltenham

The Cheltenham & Gloucestershire Tourist Guides Association have offered our local Councillors the opportunity to discover a little more about the town of Cheltenham.

Therefore at 11 o clock on Wednesday, the 19th March our guides will lead a walk around the Montpellier area of the town discussing the history, architecture and general points of interest.

North Wales Borderlands

Politicians & journalists will be invited to parts of a CPD event in North Wales Borderlands – 14 to 16 March. Invitations are being coordinated with North Wales Tourism & BHA to promote additional events organized in the region by these bodies.
