Saturday 18 February
Sunday 19 February
This year's event is Blue Badge Guide Walking Weekend, part of International Tourist Guide Day 2006 is to be held on both Saturday and Sunday 18th and 19th February.
Once again, we are being funded by Strategic Walks. Strategic Walks are part of the Mayor of London's drive to get more people walking in London and to make London the walking capital of Europe by 2015.
The Blue Badge guided walks this year are focusing on the Jubilee Walkway (inaugurated in 1977 to celebrate the Queen's Silver Jubilee). It covers some great stretches of town. Check out the route on www.jubileewalkway.com and choose your stretch.
As always, it's first come first served on both Saturday and Sunday. We'll be offering walks departing hourly between 11am and 3pm each walk starting on the hour from one London station as follows:
- London Victoria to Waterloo 'GOD & GOVERNMENT'
- Waterloo to London Bridge 'BARROWS AND THE BARD'
- London Bridge to Liverpool Street 'THE POOL & THE POUND'
- Liverpool Street to St Pauls 'GUILDS AND GILT'
- St Pauls to Kings Cross 'RIP UP THE STREET. FREE THE FLEET'
- Kings Cross to Holborn 'WIGS & STOCKINGS'
- Holborn to Leicester Square 'ROUND & ROUND THE GARDEN'
- Leicester Square to Victoria 'QUALITY STREET'.
Walks should last between 1 and 2 hours.
Hope to see you there!
